About

Colin Chisholm is a manager with the Aleza Lake Research Forest (ALRF) and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Ecosystem Science and Management at the University of Northern British Columbia.

In this position Colin has the privilege of working with a great team; of collaborating with researchers, internal and external to UNBC; to manage a wide variety of responsibilities; and has the opportunity to pursue numerous interests.

Examples include:

  • Strategic land management, influencing what the land will look like across the whole forest and through time.
  • Forest stand management, through all stages of harvest planning, regeneration, and stand tending.
  • With the support of the ALRF, Colin completed his MSc under the supervision of UNBC’s Dr. Che Elkin.
  • Guest lecturing in various UNBC classes and professional development conferences (e.g. Association of BC Forest Professionals AGM, Northern Silviculture committee)
  • Working with the British Columbia BEC team on methods related Predictive Ecosystem Mapping (PEM)

These pages are often more for personal reference and a place to keep bits of information that I need to look back at from time-to-time.
I hope that there is something here that you might also find useful!
